More On The Event

This exhibition transforms the familiar homecoming mum into a bold celebration of creativity, community, and cultural identity. Through oversized forms, rich materials, and personal stories, MUMENTOUS® captures how a high school tradition becomes a powerful expression of belonging and pride.

In this talk, Schultz shares behind-the-scenes insights into the inspiration, making process, and community connections that shaped the work. Discover how tradition evolves, why scale matters, and how personal memory and collective history collide in this unmistakably Texan phenomenon.
