In honor of National Quilting Day, the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures welcomes back the African American Quilt Circle of San Antonio for “Quilt in a Jar,” a workshop teaching basic sewing and quilting skills along with the history of the craft.
This beginner-friendly workshop will teach the essential sewing skills needed to create your own hand-crafted piece. All materials and instructions will be provided on-site.
Participants will have an opportunity to speak with creators about their practice and original works, while learning traditional quilting techniques.
Spaces are limited and RSVPs are required. This activity is intended for ages 18+ and limited to 25 seats.
