Dreamweek event. Sunday, January 12, Noon to 4pm.

January’s free Second Sunday is a great opportunity to visit the Back 40 and learn about the Buffalo Soldiers! African American Apache Clifton Fifer will have guests dancing, singing, clapping and laughing along with him as he teaches about American Indians and African Americans on the Texas Frontier.

Seminole Indian Scouts descendants and members of the Seminole Indian Scout Cemetery Association of Bracketville will attend, passing on the stories of escaped and free African Americans who fled to the American Indian tribes and integrated into their ways of life.

Inside the museum, the institute will feature a panel of designers from the Destined by Design exhibit. Hear from Ryane Smith, Tanae Wright, Britney Newman, and Kristie Glenn and see the beautiful dresses and jewelry on display.
