ITC web designers are laying out the new webpage
Big things are happening at the Institute of Texan Cultures (ITC), and it all starts online. On August 7, we’re rolling out a brand-new website—just in time to gear up for our move into Frost Tower this fall, and grand opening in the spring of 2026!
The new TexanCultures.utsa.edu is more than just a facelift. It’s a whole new way to connect with the ITC. Whether you’re planning a visit, booking a field trip, or just curious about what’s coming next, the site is designed to make things easier, faster, and more fun to explore.
What’s New?
> Smoother Navigation: Find what you need—hours, tickets, tour info, and much more.
> Online Ticketing: Skip the line and grab your tickets in advance. We’ll add the link closer to opening day.
> Exhibit Sneak Peeks: Get a glimpse of what’s on display, including our rotating exhibits and the main gallery experience at Frost Tower.
But this isn’t just about logistics. The new site is a window into the future of the ITC. Web designer Michelle Hamilton said, “This is more than a website—it’s a preview of who we’re becoming. It reflects our evolving mission and the new ways we’re thinking about culture, heritage, and community.”
Teachers, we’ve got you.
The education department will continue to develop new content and update the education section with more learning modules, including content aligned with new and rotating exhibits. The downloadable lesson plans, worksheets, and classroom resources some teachers might remember have been archived at the UTSA Libraries Roadrunner Press for easier access and long-term availability.
And yes, the beloved Tex-Kit program is making a comeback! Learn how we are updating these traveling trunks that bring the museum experience straight to your classroom, and watch for future availability. Plus, you can now connect directly with ITC educator Liz Lopez to schedule visits or collaborate on custom lesson plans.
Lopez shared, “We wanted to make sure educators have everything they need at their fingertips. Whether you’re planning a field trip or looking for resources to bring culture into your classroom, this site is built with you in mind.”
What’s Next?
This is just the beginning. As we settle into our new home at Frost Tower, the website will keep growing with us, adding new exhibits, event details, digital stories, and more educational content. It’s all part of our mission to celebrate and share the rich cultural heritage of Texas.
So mark your calendars for August, and get ready to explore the new ITC—online. We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
